Self-leveling floor (industrial floor) - type of floor covering, using the so-called self-leveling mixture. The feature of the floor is the minimum possible thickness - 3.5 mm. There are at least two types of self-leveling floors:
- finish coating, which is subsequently a floor covering,
- as well as a fast-hardening screed on a cement or gypsum basis, used in the preparation of a coating for the subsequent installation of a floor covering on it: piece parquet, parquet, linoleum, tiles, etc.
If the correct technology is used, the floor must be leveled to an ideally horizontal plane.
Technology of self-leveling floor formation's compound
- Priming of the concrete base - polyurethane or epoxy primer;
- The device of the grounding circuit (in case of application of antistatic coating);
- Coating (2 layers) - polyurethane enamel or epoxy composition;
- Reinforcement (filling with quartz sand of various fractions) or decoration;
- Application of the face layer - polyurethane enamel or epoxy compound.
Floor leveling technology
There are several types of self-leveling floors: on the basis of gypsum, cement or polymer epoxy or polyurethane binder. Epoxy or polyurethane floors are used mainly in administrative, commercial or industrial premises, in residential premises quite often using self-leveling floors on the basis of gypsum or cement for subsequent finishing with parquet, laminate, linoleum, ceramic tile, etc. The flooring is selected depending on type of room (dry or wet) and the required thickness of the alignment. There are thin and thick layered floors. Some manufacturers produce floors that allow alignment in a wide range of thicknesses.
For laying all cement, gypsum and anhydrite bases with a surface strength of at least 150 kg per square meter are suitable. The surface should be cleaned of dust, oil stains, glue and other substances that weaken the adhesion of the mixture to the substrate. Seams, joints and cracks should be sealed. On the base, it is necessary to apply an even layer of primer and dry for 1-3 hours. On the perimeter of the room along the walls, as well as around the columns and other protruding elements and niches, it is recommended to fix the damper belt. On the prepared base establish beacons, fixing them on the necessary mark. The correctness of the installation of beacons is checked by level or level.
Preparation of the solution
In a container containing 5-6 liters of clean cold water, one standard (25 kg) bag of dry mixture is filled and then mixed with an electric mixer or manually for 3-5 minutes until a homogeneous, lump free fluid is formed, which is then left for 3-5 minutes , then again mixed for 2 minutes. Attention: an excess of water can lower the strength and provoke the bundle of the mixture.
Production of works
Using a pump or manually distribute the solution evenly over the surface. If necessary, align using a rule or a T-bar. To remove air bubbles, it is recommended to pass the surface with a needle roller immediately after filling each portion of the solution mixture. When installing couplers on the separation layer, as well as on weak substrates, the thickness of the filling of the mixture should not be less than 30 mm. During the hardening of the floor, drafts and direct sunlight should be avoided. Walking on the surface can be a few hours (depending on the type of the filler floor and, consequently, the rate of full hardening). Subsequent coatings of wood (parquet board, piece parquet, plywood, etc.) are recommended to be laid no earlier than 7 days, depending on the drying conditions and the thickness of the layer of the filler floor. It is necessary to take into account the instructions of the manufacturer of the floor covering, comparing the moisture content of the substrate with tolerances in magnitude. Ceramic tiles, ceramic granite, natural stone, etc. are recommended to be laid not earlier than 3 days after the floor is filled.

The list of places of application is very wide: from apartments and offices, to specialized manufactures with extreme loads on the coating. Depending on the application conditions, specific polymer coatings and the corresponding materials are selected.
